MANAGED IT SERVICES · BUSINESSES & K–12 EDUCATION
What is an MSP, and how would it work for you?
An MSP—a Managed Service Provider—is a technology partner that takes responsibility for agreed IT services on an ongoing basis. Instead of deciding who handles each recurring task as it comes up, you define the systems, work and support process together.
Moss Media works with business owners, school leaders and in-place technology staff. We help you understand where ongoing support would be useful and build a scope around the responsibilities you want help with.

What can managed IT include?
The term “MSP” does not describe one standard package. A service agreement should say what is included, what is excluded and how additional work is handled. Depending on the agreed scope, support can cover:
- Computers, servers, user accounts and routine system administration.
- Network management, connectivity troubleshooting, updates and maintenance.
- Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace administration.
- Backup management and recovery planning.
- Cybersecurity tools and staff awareness training.
- Business phone systems, including 3CX, and camera system administration.
- Technology roadmaps, renewals and replacement planning.
Two ways to work with your organization
Support when you do not have an internal IT department
For a small business, IT responsibilities often fall to an owner or office manager. Managed support can give those responsibilities a defined home. Together, we identify which systems need attention, how staff should ask for help and which decisions need your approval.
Work alongside the technology staff you already have
Your team knows your people and environment. A shared approach—often called co-managed IT—adds capacity or expertise around that knowledge. Your staff might handle everyday requests while Moss Media helps with networks, system administration, security or projects. We agree on the division of work and coordinate changes with your team.
For school leaders and district technology teams
A district’s technology work includes more than classroom troubleshooting. Accounts, servers, networks, phones, camera systems, licensing and future projects all need attention. We help school leaders and in-place staff decide which responsibilities to share and how that support fits the school day.
Our K–12 IT services include Google Admin, Microsoft 365 and Infinite Campus support. Virtual CIO and budget planning can connect your team’s recommendations with leadership decisions. Products, modules and support responsibilities are defined for each engagement.
How getting started works
- Understand your environment. Discuss users, sites, key systems, recurring issues and the staff or providers already involved.
- Define the scope. Agree on covered systems, responsibilities, support hours, how to request help, escalation and on-site arrangements.
- Plan the handoff. Coordinate the access, documentation and initial work required with your current team.
- Review priorities. Revisit recurring issues, renewals, replacement needs and planned changes as your organization evolves.
Managed support versus help with a single problem
Project or one-time support addresses a defined issue or change. Managed support assigns ongoing responsibilities. Neither approach automatically includes every tool, project or after-hours request. We will discuss which arrangement fits your workload and budget.
Questions owners and school leaders should ask
- Which users, devices, locations and applications are covered?
- How do staff submit requests, and when is support available?
- Who approves changes and purchases?
- What happens when work falls outside the agreement?
- How are documentation, vendor coordination and responsibilities handled?
- How are fees structured, and what costs are separate?
